Success and wellbeing are things that everyone looks for. Each of us may have individual ideas of what success is and follow different routes to wellbeing, but the underlying desire is the same. This was recognized in ancient Indian culture, and so, yogis and mystics down the ages created many devices to aid human beings in their quest for immediate and ultimate wellbeing. In this post, we look at how yantras are pure energy that work ceaselessly for one who has set a particular goal.

Question: Sadhguru, I heard you offer Linga Bhairavi Yantras and Avighna Yantras. What are these yantras?

Sadhguru: Fundamentally, a yantra is a form. When a physical form is operated for a defined purpose, we call it a machine. In that sense, a yantra is a machine. A human being constantly seeks enhancement. Essentially, every kind of machine we invent or make is to enhance what we are already capable of doing – maybe to such an extent that you cannot connect the two.

Once we use physical material to make machines, there is a certain amount of inertia. Inertia is the nature of the physical. In this country, in the ancient past, they came up with technologies to create machines without using material from the planet, because they did not want inertia. They wanted a machine that is not dependent on what we do or do not do, because they realized that we are not reliable creatures. We are up and down. Yesterday, something was so important to you, but when you wake up tomorrow morning, it is just not important anymore.

Whatever goal you have set for yourself, when you sleep at night you are not working for it. In the morning you may pick it up again but by then, it may be dead. So we created energy forms which have no inertia, which will continue to function even when you maintain your inertia. Sleep is just that – you succumb to the inertia of your physicality. If you did not have a body, you would not sleep.

Machines that have no inertia can be created for various purposes – for health, wealth, prosperity, intelligence. Once you set a certain goal, even if you sleep, even if you are unconscious, even if you are not at all bothered about it, something keeps working for you in that direction. These yantras are embedded in a physical foundation, but essentially, they are purely energy, which means they have no inertia.

About the Linga Bhairavi consecration Avighna Yantra – avighna means “that which removes obstacles.”If you take up a lot of challenges, no matter how much skill and intelligence you have, still, some situations just do not clear up. To clear these kinds of obstacles, we have the Avighna Yantra. By staying in contact with it, by energizing one’s system in a certain way, one can move through life effortlessly.

To be successful, one definitely needs sense, intelligence, capability, training, and connections. But without being touched by grace, no human being is ever successful.
