At the Isha Yoga Center, several endeavors are underway to bring India’s cultural legacy to its full glory.

Mahashivratri

Isha’s Mahashivratri celebration is among the largest in the country. In 2013, the celebration was attended by nearly 600,000 spiritual seekers – an event which Harper’s Bazaar India referred to as “the largest congregation after the Maha Kumbh Mela.” The night’s events were also broadcast live, worldwide, on the Aastha Channel, Vijay TV and Isha Foundation’s online portal, and were watched by over 50 million people.

Yaksha

Yaksha a 7-day cultural festival is celebrated annually during the months of February and March and culminates in the Mahshivarathri festival. The event features 7 consecutive nights of musical concerts and dance by some of the greatest artists in India. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Jasraj, and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan are among the doyens of Indian classical music who have performed at Yaksha.

Navaratri

Navaratri at the Isha Yoga Center every year is a grand celebration with poojas, classical music and dance, and a traditional handicrafts exposition.

Hands of Grace

Every Navarathri, the Center also hosts Hands of Grace – an exhibition of India’s traditional handicrafts. India’s craftsman, possessing a deep knowledge of natural materials, produce diverse and multi-dimensional handicrafts which are unmatched in beauty and design. Craft groups showcase thousands of exquisite items, offering the gamut of India’s arts and crafts tradition.
