I n many ways, I was drawn to this place not for its beauty, but more for its pain. About fifteen years ago, I was close by, at the Center Hill Lake, and I happened to encounter a very painful situation. A frozen spirit, bleeding with pain. The encounter with this being was probably one of the most painful moments in my life. It was then that I started noticing such a deep sense of pain in many parts of this land. Whether we are conscious of it or not, it will play out in human lives. If a rock can suffer, a human being will definitely not be spared; untold suffering will simply happen without any obvious reason.
Much later, I came to know that this area is known as the Trail of Tears, where immense suffering and pain happened to Native Americans. These people are as much a part of the earth as the trees, and because of their nature, their pain does not float in the air – it sticks to the earth. We have witnessed this in many places. One way or the other, those who are in tune with what is around them, particularly the land, will leave imprints – whether it is their joy or their misery. The people who walked this land were not people who wanted to go to another planet. They knew they had come from the earth, and their entire process was about how to deeply connect with it. That is their knowing, that is their wisdom, and that is their life. So when they suffered, they left pools of pain all over the place.
Those of you who came during the first couple of years when we moved here could feel the brooding sense of pain all the time. Now, it has largely been cleared, and in many ways, this consecration will be the final step of clearing this up – not just for our property, it will generally do that in the region. This is not about some kind of special interest I have in Warren County – it is just that pain is good manure if you know how to use it. Where there is good manure, there will be good flower and fruit. Many things are bound to happen in the coming years – with us and beyond us.
If you believe you understand everything that has happened to you, it means nothing big has ever happened to you. Something that you cannot understand, something that you cannot grasp, something that you cannot contain within yourself must happen to you. That is when life is happening in a big way – otherwise it is a constipated life. So do not try to let everything flow through your head, it is a very small place.
What is going to happen during the next three days has never happened in this part of the world before. North America has seen a lot of occult, but it has not seen mysticism as such. People have done magical things using the occult, but not fundamental mysticism. What is going to happen will not be written in history books, but it is quite historic, experientially and energy-wise. Things enter history books only when they are of a political or military nature. If you look back at what you have read about the history of the world, it is about wars and political events. Someone’s enlightenment is not recorded in history unless it caused another kind of upheaval in society. So when I say historic, do not think it will get written down in the history books – it is too wonderful for that. History books record all the trash that has happened in a given society – no one writes about the beautiful things.
So, this is a great possibility for all of you. I want to see that you are not just spectators but participants in the event. Let us see what we can weave here. I hope the weather holds up and everything falls together. In terms of energy, we are fine, but in terms of physical support, it is not the same as what I am used to for consecrations in India, but they are doing their best. If all of you are intense and fully on, the atmosphere will set itself. Then we can do something else.
Brisk last minute activity going on at the new Temple. Nearly 1,500 people from across the world. Next three days, be with me and have a taste of Adi Yogi.
The brooding darkness of these woods
fed upon the native blood
In the twisted tangle of the fallen wood
the spirit of the fallen Indian stood
O brothers, your identity a mistake
those who oceans crossed did make
The greed for gold and land laid waste
the spirit of wisdom and grace
The children of those, who by murder did take,
are taintless of their forefathers mistake
But those who lived, fed upon the milk of courage and pride,
stand as spirits of defeat and shame
O the murdered and the murderous
Embrace me. Let me set your spirits to rest
