Manisha Koirala: India and Nepal are rich in spiritual heritage, but we always look to the West. Why?

Sadhguru: Everyone aspires for what is successful. The West has become the symbol of success today, which is why we wear a jacket and tie even when it’s 38oC! Unfortunately today, success has come to mean only economic success, nothing else. There’s no point struggling with it. We have to come to terms with it and ride it. If India becomes economically successful, things Indian will become more prominent.

Above all, a nation is not a line on a map. It’s an idea we must infuse into people’s minds. It must burn as pride in people’s hearts. To build pride, there has to be history. No nation has as much history as us. For example, the great temples of Angkor were built by Tamil kings. But no Tamil schoolchild even reads a line about this. We study nothing to be proud of.
