• During full and partial solar and lunar eclipses, the entire Linga Bhairavi, Avignha or Sannidhi Yantra should either be covered in neem leaves or a turmeric-dyed cloth (soak a clean white cotton cloth in water mixed with turmeric powder and ensure it is fully dry before placing it on the yantra).
  • Do not do your daily process during the eclipse. It can be done before or after.
  • If you are traveling at the time of an eclipse, you can cover the yantra with a turmeric cloth before leaving, in place of the white cloth.
  • Afterwards you can bury or burn the leaves or cloth.
  • If you wish to, you can keep the turmeric cloth and reuse it for future eclipses. Do not use it for other purposes in between.
  • The following consecrated items can be covered optionally, if you wish, but it is not necessary:
    • Linga Bhairavi Gudi
    • Nanmai Uruvam
    • Mahima Yantra
    • Consecrated Adi Yogi Statues (unconsecrated statues need not be covered)
  • In addition to neem or turmeric cloth, vilvam leaves are another option for covering any of the above items except for Devi yantras or Gudis.
  • If you wish to, is beneficial to chant the Yoga, Yoga, Yogeshwaraya chant during the eclipse.
