Guru Purnima, possibly the most important date in a sadhaka’s calendar, fell on 3rd July this year and the occasion was celebrated at Isha Yoga Center with much enthusiasm and devotion.

Guru Purnima is the first day of the Dakshinayana – the southern run of the Sun – and the period is a particularly good time to receive the Grace of the Guru. Hundreds of meditators wound their way to the ashram to be able to attend the special Sathsang with Sadhguru.

Typically, the evening began with Sounds of Isha setting the tone. They performed Chandrajeevan, a paean to the moon, as well as a Tamil song of devotion.

Sadhguru spoke of a few significant events that have been set in motion on this day. The 21-week Hata Yoga Teacher Training program has been kick-started with 45 participants from India and abroad. They will be studying all aspects of Hata Yoga in great depth and will be able to impart this to others in a qualitative manner.

Guru Purnima was also marked in Isha centers in various cities across India and the world. The Sathsang was broadcast and live streamed on the internet as well.
