Poem: Kashi
In this week's Spot, Sadhguru pens a new poem inspired by his recent trip to Varanasi. The poem "Kashi" speaks of the rise and fall of this ancient city, and the hope that it will once again regain its glory. "A tower of light of immeasurable height / The cosmic reach of the blessed city drew / men of all kinds. / Craftsmen and tradesmen / Scholars and priests, merchants and mendicants." Enjoy!

Kashi

A tower of light of immeasurable  height
The cosmic reach of the blessed city drew
men of all kinds. Craftsmen and  tradesmen
Scholars and priests, merchants and mendicants.
Builders and boatsmen. Seekers of every kind
Flocked to suck at the teat of eternity.
Mother Ganga took an odd turn to embrace
this sacred space. Even ensnared the Great Lord
Shambho by its charm.

The great Kashi lost in the folds of human memory
Now left graceless by the invading hordes
and the callous kind who administer bereft of
the sacred touch, but of greed and indolence
of the worst sort.

May blessed Kashi rise again
And touch one and all with its
Sacred light

Love & Grace

Now that you have blessed sadhguru, I have faith that the very thought structure of the callous kind will change to its utmost pristine form. We will witness an incedible involvement in reviving Kashi in the near future.

For a seeker, kashi is still magnetic and magical thanks to Lord Vishwanathji and Mata Annapoornaji

This has become the story of almost every sacred place in India. Unless we make an effort to go back to our traditional roots, the decline will continue. In few words, Sadhguru has made a profound and complete statement!

One perceives what one sees- even than , lest be known that Kashi shall never fall as Lord Shiva's abode on earth is indestructible!!! The ruins of this glorious haven on earth is due to man's greed and insatiable nature. What is and shall be untill Ma Ganga rises and devours all that is not dharma.
