"Perspectives" - A New Outlook

A new feature has been recently introduced at Isha Home School to give the young, inquiring minds on campus some food for thought. Called ‘Perspectives,’ this is an opportunity to get a fresh take on Sadhguru’s many insights on life. Periodically, the teachers of Isha Home School will select an interesting quote by a historical figure or prominent individual, which will be featured next to Sadhguru’s perspective on the same topic. This will be a permanent display in Isha Home School, where teachers will also be encouraged to share their views on the chosen theme.

This week, a quote by Che Guevara is displayed next to Sadhguru’s perspective about living life with utmost passion and intensity.

Sadhguru wrote: What you love is both worth living and dying for
When you die for what matters, you will live

Che Guevara wrote: We cannot be sure of having something to live for unless we are willing to die for it

Here at the Isha blog, we invite you to provide your own outlook on the quotes above. You can leave your comments below – let’s see many interesting ‘perspectives.’ :-)

Do what matters to you, what your heart believes is true and right. Leave no space for fear. Be fully committed. Life and death keep occuring. You will find your way back to earth if you die, but your heart might not be able to take the regret and burden of not following what mattered to you when you are alive. So one will be dead even before death comes!

We are still in the womb
waiting to be born
to live and grow
and taste sweet freedom

Our choices bind us
take us to our graves
proud and weak, trapped
like zombies, undead

Live is just a Drama in which we play our different parts with or without the true wisdom.
Some are destined to be models.
Others just eat drink, enjoy sleep and die.without any special notifications.
One who is destined to die for a cause ,whether positive or negative ,,lives long .?....

If you are working with the Director in good relations then ,no worry over the outcome,as He ,not you the doer.
So surrender....

This is a wonderful quote. But only a person of great maturity can be so sure. We need to tune ourselves finely and gain clarity, otherwise what we "love" could be driven by very selfish and limited perspectives. It needs a broadening of vision, a higher purpose and a certain preparation to actually know what one loves and what matters and completely dive into it. Pranams!

hazaaron kwahishen aise, ki har khwahish pe dum nikle
bahut nikle mere armaan, phir bhi kam nikle - Mirza Ghalib
-----
a 1000 desires, each one such, that it is worth dying for- (khwahis is more than just desire. seeking, passion come closer. english is so inadequate to express the beauty of Urdu...)

many desires come from me, still not as many as I would like to fulfil.

I live by this. I remember Sadhguru saying that so long as Iseek, so long as I am confused, there is hope. the minute I say "I know", I am finished. I can grow no more. Living looking for something woorth dying for. maybe i'll find that 'living' trully by itself is worth dying for. Pranams to my fellow seekers.

When you live passionately, you forget all about living and dying.  You enjoy to live life in intensity.

The recent example of Anna who was willing to die for his cause, generated an energy that roused the masses witnessed perhaps during Gandhi and Jayaprakash's time. Is it any wonder they too were willing to die for their cause?

Play your role in life with such passion that even after curtains come down, the applause doesn't stop.

This is what I could decipher:Sadhguru - "When you are passionate about something (putting your heart & soul in to it) - you don't feel the burden of doing it. This means, your work becomes effortless. At the same time it also becomes intense (which makes you efficient whatever you do - at least you do it to your max capabilities). Importantly, only when you are intense you can experience life to its maximum.  Living intensely also means you are living in the moment (consciously). (Why should we live in the present moment? - because that is the only reality and everything else is imaginary). Dying can happen only at any given moment of your life.  So if you live consciously every moment then you will go through death also consciously. It basically says life and death will become effortless and a joy"CheThis one is tougher to interpret... I think he says that everything in life is hard to earn. In essence, he says life is a constant struggle/conflict. I think this is totally opposite to sadhguru's viewpoint.

We are a  total bundle of limitations....even our love may be bound by limitation and bias , which we may not be aware at this moment.  Unless we cross these limitations, with sheer sadhana and intensity,  to be ready to die for the love happens by itself, i guess. But this is very logically or intellectually thinking about it.  It is an experience by itself, which cannot be explained when we, atleast  I have not reached that stage.  I fully am with Sadhguru.

Life and Death are like two sides of a coin. So you are already dead if you are not living :)

Both Che and Sadhguru were ready to lay down their lives for what they believed was good for the people , the former for his Communist views and the latter for the Dhyanalinga. Both of them meet in common points like all should live freely and happily, all should have equal opportunity to excel in their lives and so on. In fact Sadhguru has gone many strides  ahead of  Che in bringing to reality what he believed with projects like Isha Vidhya, Project Green Hands etc.,No wonder we call these a Silent Revolution
