A Life-Transforming Weekend with Sadhguru in London
Just months after many a Olympic and Paralympic athlete had pushed their limits competing at ExCeL London trying to get a gold medal, this weekend it was the setting for a very different kind of “superhuman” achievement. Meditators from all over Europe and beyond gathered for what would be a very memorable weekend for those present.
Billed as “A Life Transforming Weekend with Sadhguru” it certainly lived up to its name. For many, this was the culmination of a journey which had started with the Inner Engineering Online. They all came with the openness and eagerness to receive a truly deep transformation from within and be in the presence of Sadhguru, who had accompanied them via their computer screen until now.
With weeks of preparation in the lead up to the program, the UK volunteers arrived at the venue in the morning ready to manifest those preparations into reality. About 200 volunteers joyfully went about their activity excited about what would take place and the possibility of offering something of true value.
Hours before the program was due to commence, the avid participants had already started to arrive with the hope of favorable seating, to be as close to Sadhguru as possible. Steadily the hall was filling up before Sadhguru’s arrival and the anticipation and excitement was rising. Then, right on schedule, Sadhguru appeared and the magic began.
Sadhguru glided through the sessions with his familiar humor, clarity and insight, taking the 500 plus participants through an exploration of the yogic system, making them aware of the true possibilities which lie ahead.
During the class, Sadhguru revealed the true blessing that had been bestowed upon them on the second day of the program. Though unplanned at the time of scheduling, the day of the Shambhavi Initiation had fallen on the very auspicious day of Mauni Amavasya, which was given added significance as it falls during the year of the Kumbh Mela. So this particular Mauni Amavasya had great significance with regards to the solar cycle and therefore the main day of the Kumbh Mela itself.
As far as Sundays go, this wasn’t to be an average Sunday for those attending. Whether it was the significant day or the openness of the people, the initiation was truly magical and many were blown away by the process and were left deeply touched by the program. The brightness of their faces, both participants and volunteers, was clear for all to see.
As the program drew to a close, Sadhguru walked through the crowd. In childlike innocence the new initiated meditators tried to get as close as possible, many in tears. As Sadhguru disappeared behind the stage, the program officially ended with all mediators in mass jubilation of what had occurred, but more importantly the possibilities of what lies ahead. The Life-Transforming weekend may have ended, but it was clear to see for many the transformation is not limited to this weekend alone.
