On the evening of November 13th, Sadhguru launched his new book, InnerEngineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy, at an event attended by a full house of over 3600 people at ExCel Center, London. The book, already hugely popular among the North American readers, has reached the New York Times Best Seller list in multiple categories.
While describing the book, Sadhguru explained that this release has been on his mind for twenty years: “My aim in this book is to help make joy your constant companion. To make that happen, this book offers you not a sermon, but a science; not a teaching, but a technology; not a precept, but a path. All our other titles are inspirational. This book is transformational.” Inner Engineering offers the reader a sophisticated guide to self-empowerment and a means to create a framework of inner stability based on the science of yoga.
Before leaving the venue, Sadhguru offered these last words to the London volunteers: “It’s not just a book...Make it your life.”
At Oxford Union
Sadhguru also addressed the students, academics and alumni of Oxford Union, one of the world's most prestigious debating societies, in London on November 15th. Sadhguru spoke about the significance and science of ancient technologies of well-being and their relevance to contemporary society. He threw light upon the blossoming of human brain and intelligence through the process of evolution, but also explained that human beings do not know how to handle this capability and as a result are suffering the same. He spoke about the limited nature of the human intellect, and how one can never grasp everything through the intellect.
He further spoke about how knowledge is small but ignorance is boundless and said that, “The yogic culture valued ignorance, and if one can identify with this ignorance, one naturally becomes a seeker to know. By identifying with one’s knowledge, one becomes a tyrant.”
