Isha Arogya’s tally of Holistic Health Centers was joined by a new center at Karur, Tamil Nadu. The center was launched amidst great enthusiasm by various local personages. So far Holistic Health Centers are operational in Chennai and Salem, and soon there will also be clinics in Trichy and Coimbatore as well.

The Isha Arogya Holistic Health Center is a unique concept that is part of Isha Arogya, Isha Foundation’s thrust in the area of health and social well-being. This is an effort to bring together various streams of medicine such as Allopathy, Siddha, Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy under one consultative roof. The thinking behind such a holistic health center is to use the strengths of each of these systems of medicine: while Allopathy is recognized for its ability to quickly cure infectious diseases, traditional systems of medicine are noted for their ability to strengthen the human body’s innate ability to resist disease. Combining the strengths of these two methods results in an effective and comprehensive approach to an individual’s health – an approach that is no longer about just combating disease, but about creating a sense of wholeness in the individual.

The center will offer complete healthcare – with free consultation – combining the various health systems. Two doctors, one for Siddha and one for Allopathy will be available for consultation. The center’s pharmacy is stocked with Siddha, Ayurveda and Allopathic medicines, as well as a full range of Siddha and Ayurveda personal care products for healthcare, skincare, hair-care and baby-care products. Supplements for good health, disease-resistance and anti-toxin medicines are also available. There are two therapy rooms to provide Ayurvedic massage and besides general consultation, the center is equipped to provide specialty services for various chronic diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, skin ailments, migraine, knee/back pain, obesity, hair fall and chronic ailments.
