Guidelines
To ensure a pleasant experience for yourself and others at the Yoga Center, please be aware of the following guidelines:
The traditional greeting in southern India is “Namaskaram” with palms folded. As a sign of respect for the local culture, please refrain from public displays of physical affection such as hugging or holding hands.
Guests are required to wear traditional Indian attire. All clothing should be modest, covering the upper arms, thighs, and ankles (no capris or shorts) at all times. Please avoid tight or transparent clothing.
For women, salwars, churidars, sarees, full-length skirts, and kurtas with pants are acceptable. Men may wear veshtis, panchakacham, or kurtas with pants.
Photography is permitted only at Adiyogi. Please do not take photos or videos anywhere within the Yoga Center.
Removing one’s footwear before entering interior spaces is a part of the Indian culture. Please keep your footwear neatly on the racks provided.
The Isha Yoga Center has been established specifically for the purpose of supporting Yogic sadhana (spiritual practice). To maintain both the sanctity and security of the space:
Alcohol, illicit drugs, cigarettes, and non-vegetarian food are strictly prohibited on the premises.
Once you check-in, do not leave the Yoga Center premises for any reason.
Wear your access wristband at all times.
Offering
The Yoga Center provides two nutritious vegetarian meals daily at Bhiksha Hall. If needed, additional items can be purchased at the nearby Department Store. There are also several restaurants available - Peppervine Eatery, Moondram Pirai Eatery, and Velliangiri Unavagam.
We encourage you to volunteer for at least 2-3 hours a day in the various areas of the Yoga Center, such as Adiyogi, Dhyanalinga, Linga Bhairavi, dining setup and serving, and gardening. Volunteering supports one’s inner growth and is a great way to get more involved in life at the Yoga Center.
Please contact the Volunteer Reception at Welcome Point for more details.
