Significance

  • It helps children to establish freedom from the comfort of the womb and prepares them for participation in the world. It also stimulates growth of the brain and nervous system.

All children’s rituals include:

  • Depending on the child’s age, either application of energized Teerthakund water on the child or them taking a dip in the Teerthakund.

  • Adorning the child with a blessed garland and tilak.

  • An aura cleansing process to remove negativities.

  • Vibrant chants to invoke Devi’s grace.

  • An offering of samarpanam and arati for the wellbeing of the child and family.

  • Tying of a consecrated Devi Abhaya Sutra to the child’s wrist for their growth and stability.
