Significance

  • During the process, the child is placed in a beautifully decorated cradle in front of Devi. The process brings wellbeing and protection for the child.

Ritual Details

  • Namakaranam is available for infants up to 1 year of age.

All children’s rituals include:

  • Depending on the child’s age, either application of energized Teerthakund water on the child or them taking a dip in the Teerthakund.

  • Adorning the child with a blessed garland and tilak. 

  • An aura cleansing process to remove negativities.

  • Vibrant chants to invoke Devi’s grace.

  • An offering of samarpanam and arati for the wellbeing of the child and family.

  • Tying of a consecrated Devi Abhaya Sutra to the child’s wrist for their growth and stability.
