Akshaya

The Kitchen

The Akshaya Kitchen is dedicated to preparing nourishing meals for all at Isha. Akshaya means “never-ending” or "inexhaustible" in Sanskrit, which truly embodies the ethos of our kitchen. With over 200 volunteers offering themselves to various activities, this mega-kitchen produces over 10,000 meals like clockwork – every day, throughout the year.

Bhiksha Hall

The Dining hall

Freshly prepared meals from Akshaya are served twice a day at Bhiksha Hall, a name derived from "Bhiksha," which represents "alms" or "offered food." More than just a dining facility, it is a place where the act of eating becomes a profound experience. Both serving and eating food are done in silence, in an atmosphere of gratitude and reverence.
