ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Deeply embedded in Indian culture, the ancient science of yoga has always been a powerful enabler for one’s ultimate wellbeing. The first International Day of Yoga (IDY), celebrated across the world on 21st June 2015, has drawn global attention back to this ancient technology of wellbeing.

In preparation for IDY 2016, Isha Foundation has planned many events to offer tools for inner wellbeing to every individual.

The 8-Day Hatha Yoga program is a part of this worldwide endeavor. The program will be conducted in English with live translation in German, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

After successfully completing the program, participants will be equipped to offer some of the simple Hatha Yoga practices to their communities, thereby enabling them to conduct sessions on the International Day of Yoga 2016 and beyond.

Upa Yoga

“My shoulders and neck tend to get sore, I think a lot of IT professionals have this similar thing, so Upayoga has helped me a lot with that, the shoulder and neck stiffness drastically has gone down. I feel throughout the day that I’m more decisive, I’m less hesitant to take action.” – Subash Kumar, India

Surya Kriya

After my first complete Surya Kriya practice, I felt as if my entire body was in a meditative state. Every part of my body and mind was just Still. It was stilling, exhilarating, HUGE, and, definitely, powerful. It tones my body and mind daily. Now I understand the difference between “authentic yoga” and other types of yoga taught simply for fitness. – Saloney Arora, USA

Yogasanas

“When we do the asanas, the experience of it has become like one long meditation, and that’s really the depth of it. This is really what’s important, the richness of experience is there.” – Dunia Atmeh, Canada
