8 Day Hatha Yoga Program Guidelines / FAQ
Registration: You must register for the program online at the registration link. Upon arrival at Isha Yoga Center, please check in at the welcome desk which will be open on 26th May 2016, from 6 am onwards. Please arrive and report for registration at Isha Yoga Center before 4 pm. Please ensure to bring a printed copy of your e-receipt as a confirmation of your registration. Please ensure you bring a valid Photo Identification card (like passport, driving license or Social Security card) when you come to the Isha Yoga Center.
Attendance and Commitment: In order to make use of this program, it is very important that you attend it in a committed way. Participants must be present at all sessions and be seated on time before the class begins.
Medical fitness: During the program, the participants would be taught yoga postures involving muscular movements that require a certain degree of physical fitness and agility. It is in the best interest of the participants to take medical advice before registering for the program. Those with a history of any physiological or psychological condition must consult a doctor prior to registration.
Program Timings: Every day the session will start at 5:30am and continue until 9:30pm. There will be breaks during the day.
Translation into other languages: Live translation will be provided in the following languages during the 8 Day Hatha Yoga program: German, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Those who require translation into these languages from English language, please bring a mobile phone and headset with radio frequency.
Leaving ashram premises: Participants are not permitted to leave the premises of the ashram for the duration of the program. Please bring all necessities for the duration of the program including medicines, toiletries etc.
Mobile phone usage: In order to make the most of the stay at Isha Yoga Center, participants are advised to keep mobile phone communication to the minimum possible. Mobile phone charging facility may be very limited.
Yoga Mats: Participants must bring their own Yoga mats.
Bedding: Participants are requested to bring their own beddings or sleeping bag.
Clothing: The participants are advised to wear loose and comfortable clothing for the program. White or light colored clothes are recommended. Please bring clothing that covers shoulders, knees and midriff at all times for both men and women. Proper attire includes: ankle length pants for both men and women (no capris or shorts) and long shirts that cover upper arms and thighs. Please avoid tight clothes – both for your own comfort and as a sign of respect for the local culture. Loose fitting Salwar/Churidhar Set, Kurtha/Pajama, would be ideal as clothing. You can find these in all the leading textile/garments shops. They can also be purchased online – please check out www.ishashoppe.com OR write to firstname.lastname@example.org and find out if you can order them online. Finding the required number of sets that are of your size may be a challenge under time constraints, so it is recommended that you finish your purchases well ahead of time!
Laundry: Due to shortage of water, hand-washing of clothes will not be possible. Laundry service facility will not be available. Participants should bring enough sets of clothes to last for the entire duration of the program. It will available for 21 day program participants.
Valuables: Participants who will be staying in the shared accommodations will be retaining their own mobile phones and valuables with them. It is best not to bring expensive items like electronic gadgets and laptops. In order to safeguard the contents, please bring a small luggage lock with 2 or more copies of the key.
Bhuta Shuddhi Kit: Participants opting to attend the 21 day program will be initiated into the Bhuta Shuddhi process. In order to continue the practice at home, a special kit will be available for purchase. The cost of the kit is INR 1700.
Accommodation: If you are arriving more than 24 hours before the program or staying after the program, please register in advance of your visit by writing to email@example.com. We are not equipped to take care of children while you are in the program, so please do not bring them with you.
Toiletries & other things to bring: Family members or friends who are coming together should keep their belongings and toiletries separate, as they may be given different accommodation. Please bring a torchlight, umbrella, and mosquito repellant (cream/lotion).
Diet: A wholesome vegetarian diet will be provided. There are two full meals served at the Isha Yoga Center: brunch at 10AM and dinner at 7PM. Light snack (fruits with juice or soup) will be served in the afternoon. Please do not bring snacks and eatables.
Medication: Please bring general medicines for cold, fever, etc., as well as any other regular medication prescribed.
Weather: Weather at the Isha Yoga Center is warm from April through September with temperatures reaching a maximum of 35°C (95°F). Light clothing is recommended.
Important note: Smoking, alcohol consumption, or consumption of any kind of intoxicant is strictly prohibited. You will be asked to leave the ashram immediately if found in possession or using such substances.
Transportation: Regular Buses are available between Coimbatore and Isha Yoga Center: From Gandhipuram, Coimbatore to Isha Yoga Center– Bus No. 14D Every half hour from Morning 5:30 AM.

Please bring the registration receipt you have been given upon completion of the online registration process (Donation Receipt) when you come for the program.
