A Quick Recap of the Last Few Weeks
Bibek Debroy is not only the Chairman of the Indian Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, but also a prolific author of translations of classical Sanskrit texts to English. His latest book release is a translation of the Shiva Purana in three volumes, which he dedicated to Sadhguru. He came to the Isha Yoga Center to sit down with Sadhguru at the Suryakund, in the presence of Naga, in order to explore the essence of Shiva from the viewpoint of a living Master.
In this engaging dialogue, Sadhguru shed light on various aspects of Shiva, symbolisms associated with him, the nature of rituals, and the importance of enhancing one’s perception. He explained that Shiva is not an individual but refers to “that which is not” or nothingness, which is the source of existence.
Emphasizing the importance of differentiating between symbols and absolutes, Sadhguru offered deeper insights into yantra, tantra, and mantra. He also pointed out that the empowerment of humanity always comes with the risk of misuse if not guided by consciousness. Cautioning about the limitations of science in explaining certain spiritual aspects, he advised against an exclusive reliance on intellect for understanding.
In terms of spiritual practices, Sadhguru clarified that the ultimate objective is to arrive at a certain level of stillness and awareness, underscoring the need for consistent practice and discouraging any potential shortcuts on the spiritual path.
Sadhguru expressed the necessity of breaking free from fanciful ideas about oneself in order to grow spiritually, suggesting that becoming more “ordinary” is a prerequisite for becoming extraordinary.
On the auspicious night of Purnima, Sadhguru offered a consecrated form of Linga Bhairavi Devi to the Yantra Ceremony participants. The next Yantra Ceremony with Sadhguru will happen from 25 to 27 Dec 2023 at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore.
As the sun began to set, Sadhguru took his seat for Darshan in the serene space between Dhyanalinga and Chandrakund. Drawing a connection to the day’s lingering warmth, Sadhguru brought up the subject of the expected increase in solar flares for the coming eleven to twelve months, and the possible implications they could have on Mother Earth and all life forms.
He said that depending on the Earth’s response to the solar flares, various outcomes could transpire. One such possibility is a significant increase in temperatures, while heightened volcanic eruptions could block the Sun and cause a cooling effect. He also mentioned potential shifts in monsoon patterns due to these changes and stressed the need to maintain vegetation to prevent desertification.
Sadhguru urged everyone to pay attention to their bodies’ needs throughout these changes. Spiritual seekers could use this cascade of solar energy to their advantage, provided they are ready for it. Sadhguru went on to assert that if you are fit for life, then every time is a good time.
Former Indian cricket champion, Virender Sehwag, paid his third visit to the Isha Yoga Center. There, he met Sadhguru, took a rejuvenating dip in the Suryakund, offered a homage to Linga Bhairavi, and even served food to tribal children from nearby villages.
Profoundly impressed, he posted on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter): “With the Master, the Journey is Faster :) 3rd visit to the Isha Yoga Center and each time more deeply touched than the previous one. Sadhguru is a rare being and we are truly fortunate to be living in times of such a great master. Incredible work in so many aspects, a lot of which goes unnoticed. Gratitude Sadhguru for so much love, compassion and the willingness to just offer yourself to everyone. With your grace, may we know the precious intimacy and bliss of experiencing the divinity within.”
On India’s 77th Independence Day, ashramites, brahmacharis, volunteers, guests, and visitors gathered at 7:00 a.m. for the Flag Hoisting Ceremony in the presence of Adiyogi and Sadhguru.
Students of Isha Samskriti and Isha Home School presented a moving rendition of India’s national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” as a tribute to India’s rich and diverse culture and heritage.
In the evening, Adiyogi was illuminated in the colors of the Har Ghar Tiranga, India’s tricolor flag. In this context, Sadhguru stated, “Adiyogi represents the absolute unity of existence. To be able to experience this unity within oneself is Yoga. For too long human beings have turned their differences into discriminations and in turn conflict. It is time everyone embraces all there is as life, and be in Yoga or union with the existence. In this brief life, this possibility is the only way forward. Adiyogi and the technologies of wellbeing that he has offered to us in the form of yogic sciences, belong not to the past, but to the future and the future wellbeing of humanity on this planet.”
As part of the commemoration of India’s 77th Independence Day, the Isha Foundation has launched the “Yoga for Stress Management and Holistic Wellness” initiative in collaboration with the Southern Command of the Indian Army. This partnership aims to deliver free, week-long classical Hatha Yoga programs to over 10,000 active-duty soldiers stationed across 23 locations in 9 states under the jurisdiction of the command.
These Yoga practices, explained Sadhguru in a virtual address, are designed to cultivate mental balance, stability, and inner wellbeing. The inaugural ceremony was led by Lieutenant General Ajai Kumar Singh, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command. He emphasized the significance of reconnecting with India’s cultural and spiritual roots, particularly given the increasing challenges faced by soldiers. He also expressed gratitude to Sadhguru for his unwavering support.
