SADHANA GUIDELINES

Duration

You can choose to do the sadhana for a period of 42, 21, 14 or 7 days.

Practice

  • Shiva Namaskar, (a practice taught during the initiation) should be done with devotion a minimum of 12/21 times a day, either before sunrise or after sunset, on an empty stomach.

  • During the sadhana period, you are recommended to address others as “Shiva.”

  • Dress Code: White or light-colored clothing with a saffron-colour (kaavi) Shawl is highly recommended, but not mandatory.

  • Ask for Bhiksha or alms from a minimum of 21 people and offer it to Dhyanalinga at the time of culmination. This is applicable only for in-person culmination.

Instead of asking for Bhiksha (alms) as part of the sadhana, you can skip a meal and contribute to Annadanam - a sacred offering of food to someone.

  • Participants who are culminating online, can offer money or food to 3 people in need or can donate the same amount for Annadanam.

  • Vibhuti should be applied between the eyebrows, at the pit of the throat, behind the ears, on the solar plexus and just below the navel.

Please Note:
People with hernia are advised to do the variations of Shiva Namaskar by using a cushion or a chair.

The Shiva Namaskar process gave me the emotional strength that I had lost somewhere during the last 2 decades of corporate chaos. I recommend it to all working professionals.
