What is
Project Samskriti?
In the Indian culture, the practice of classical art forms has always been anchored in spirituality. These arts are rooted in devotion and are practiced as an offering, rather than as entertainment. Dating back several millennia, these arts have been evolved to bring peak wellbeing and balance to the human body, mind, emotions and energies.
Project Samskriti is a contemporary ensemble that aims to nurture, preserve, and showcase these ageless arts to the world. Seamlessly blending classical dance, music and martial arts into a breathtakingly exuberant expression, Project Samskriti transcends cultural boundaries and captivates audiences of all backgrounds.
Preparing Children not for the University but for the Universe
"The most important work on the planet is to raise human consciousness. Samskriti is an endeavor to allow children to flower into their ultimate possibility of consciousness and capability." —Sadhguru
At a time when modern education is geared towards inculcating information, which is always subject to social, economic and technological changes, Samskriti, a part of Sadhguru Gurukulam, is an education system dedicated to a child's overall development, enabling them to realize their full potential – physically, mentally and spiritually.
Envisioned by Sadhguru as an offering to children, Samskriti allows them to explore their innate capabilities rather than imposing merely informative education on them. Located at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, it provides an ideal environment for children to unfold in harmony within themselves and with the world around them.
A unique blend of Yogic practices, Indian classical arts such as Bharatanatyam and Classical Music, and martial arts such as Kalaripayattu, one of the most ancient forms of martial arts, bring balance and stability to the child's body and mind. The children also study Sanskrit, English and Mathematics.
In an atmosphere of dedication, discipline and focus, each aspect of the child's lifestyle is carefully chosen to orient them towards their inner nature. Children begin between the ages of 7 and 8 and receive a life-oriented education until the age of 18. The children develop into dynamic, capable, and dedicated human beings – human beings whose presence will be a tremendous contribution to the world.
To present Indian classical arts, outcomes of a culture crafted to elevate human consciousness, to the world as tools for inner transformation and infuse modern society with their inherent gentleness and profound aesthetic values.
"Indian classical music and dance are not just for entertainment – they are designed to elevate your consciousness.”
