Discover the profound power of Dhyanalinga, as Sadhguru delves into its role as a living Guru that transcends physical boundaries. Learn how this energy form can effortlessly guide individuals in meditation and transform their lives, making spiritual wellbeing accessible to all.
Questioner: Sadhguru, you talked about how Dhyanalinga is a live Guru. So, my question is, can Dhyanalinga really teach us something and transmit things that are from another dimension?
Sadhguru: Are you asking whether Dhyanalinga will hold an entertainment session? There is nothing to teach. There is something to transmit. That is what Dhyanalinga is doing.
Dhyanalinga means no more stories; you just sit there. Yoga means expanding the boundaries of your individual self to experience life in a larger way. The reverberation of Dhyanalinga is created and consecrated in such a way that if you sit there, it naturally removes the boundaries of your individual existence.
People who have never known what it means to meditate come and sit there. They may have thought they would sit for 15 minutes, but several hours passed without them realizing the time because they were not conscious of their body. Dhyanalinga is created to take away the boundaries of the individual self.
At Dhyanalinga, you can do Yoga without doing Yoga. Otherwise, to teach meditation, there is a limit to how many people you can instruct. But Dhyanalinga can instruct millions of people; straight away, without a word, people can become meditative, and that is the purpose.
On different days of the week, it is slightly different; though the fundamental aspect remains the same, the surface aspects vary from day to day. Seven days of the week have seven different qualities pertaining to seven different dimensions of life or seven chakras.
Dhyanalinga is like a living Guru with a full-fledged energy body. He does not have a physical body, but he is as alive as anyone else, and much more. Dhyanalinga is the highest possible being with all the seven chakras, but without the encumbrance of physicality. In theory, we could create a physical body for the energy body if we wish, but in practice, it is too complex.
So, he is a wonderful guy – no body. No body means freedom. No body means you could be anywhere; you would have no problems at all. Because he is a full-fledged human being without the burden of a physical body, large groups of people can do their sadhana in the intimacy of a Guru. As long as a Guru has a physical body, this intimacy can happen only in small groups.
The fundamental nature of the energy of Dhyanalinga is such that even those who do not know anything about meditation can become meditative simply by sitting in its sphere. Without instruction, you can make people meditate, and this meditative state will continue in their lives. The essential focus of Dhyanalinga is spiritual wellbeing, but there are also other dimensions to it because Dhyanalinga is created with all the seven energy centers or chakras.
Dhyanalinga is like an ultimate being, as if Shiva was sitting here. The beauty of Dhyanalinga is that millions of people get to do their sadhana in the presence and intimacy of a living Guru, which is otherwise usually not possible. You do not have to believe anything; you do not need any kind of ritual or offering. Simply sit there with your eyes closed. The powerful energies of Dhyanalinga will begin to work within you.
The idea is that someday, every human being should be in the highest state of life. Anyway, you are here; you are alive – why not make yourself fully alive? Death does not need your assistance; it is superefficient. It is life which can happen inefficiently. So, life needs assistance, focus, and enhancement. If you are trying to reduce your life because you think it is safer, you are reducing your aliveness.
Because people tend to think that they are bigger than any stone, they come and sit for just a few minutes at Dhyanalinga. Still, for many of them, it is life-transforming. Every day, thousands of visitors come, and for them, it may be about things like passing an exam without having studied, making a lot of money without any skills, or finding the most beautiful man or woman in the world without any clue as to how to manage them. Dhyanalinga ignores all these prayers.
Dhyanalinga ignores all ignorance – he simply transmits. As a living Guru, Dhyanalinga works on whichever level you are at. If you do not know anything, he will plant the seed, and it will wait. Someone may come and sit there for the first time, and they may freak out totally. For someone else, it may just be an empty space. Others may experience a little vibration within themselves. It is different for different people.
Dhyanalinga is already full on, but you have to become receptive. On one level, receptivity means that you want to be perceptive. Your expression is not important. If you change that one thing within you, you will become receptive.
How to become receptive to Dhyanalinga? You must just sit and listen. “Is he going to say something?” He is not going to say a single thing. But you must listen to something which does not say anything. That may not make sense to you right now. The day it makes sense to you, everything will fall into place. When you are willing to listen to someone who does not say anything, you have fallen into place.
A complex consecrated form such as Dhyanalinga is not limited to its physical space. It is available wherever you are if your doors are open. Dhyanalinga is not a particular physical form but an energy form that defies time and space. If you are willing, it is available to you wherever you are. But this may sound very abstract to many of you.
It is best if you make at least one visit to behold Dhyanalinga. If you sit there, the spiritual seed will anyway be sown within you. Then fix a certain time for yourself, preferably in the morning or evening, to simply sit quietly – the energy of Dhyanalinga will definitely envelop you from within.
And if you need a visual aid, you can always have an image or a yantra, which will provide the necessary support. But all these aids are only because one is psychologically distracted. Otherwise, none of these are needed. The spiritual seed sown simply by being in the presence will naturally take care of this. Essentially, if you sit quietly in one place in your house, you should feel it from within yourself, even if you have not been in the space of Dhyanalinga. It is possible, but you must be in a certain level of receptivity.
Because old traditions are breaking up and live Gurus are becoming more and more scarce, Dhyanalinga is of paramount importance. Dhyanalinga is a tremendous spiritual investment for the future.
