Mahashivratri 2022

Mahashivratri, the darkest night of the year, celebrates the grace of Shiva and the yogic tradition. Isha Mahashivratri has evolved into the largest celebration of its kind on the planet, in terms of scale and grandeur.

This year, Mahashivratri will be celebrated on 1 March 2022 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The exuberant nightlong festival will happen in the presence of Adiyogi at Isha Yoga Center, at the foothills of the sacred Velliangiri mountains, where Shiva himself spent time. The night will be filled with explosive meditations, satsang with Sadhguru, and breathtaking music and dance performances.

Past Yaksha performances

Mahashivratri night will be followed by 7 days of celebrations. Immediately after Mahashivratri will be Yaksha – a vibrant festival of culture, music, and dance, every day from 2 to 4 March 2022, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. These three days will feature classical artists representing a wide spectrum of performing arts. This will be followed by four days of performances by local artists who are sure to enthrall one and all.

Every evening, one can witness the Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, which is a spectacular light and sound show that depicts Adiyogi’s contribution and offering to humanity.

Maha Annadanam is a sacred offering of food to all. This is an integral part of the Yogic culture, where food is offered not just for physical nourishment but as a sacred duty, without which no festival or ceremony is complete.
