Thaipusam
Thaipusam, which takes place on the first full moon after the winter solstice, is traditionally seen as a day of auspiciousness and grace, which a person can make use of for their wellbeing. This day is also known as “Dhanya Purnima”, which means a full moon of fulfillment. It is a day when many siddhas, seers and Yogis chose to leave their body and attain to their ultimate nature.
Lunar Hindu New Year
The Lunar Hindu New Year is very significant, not just culturally, but scientifically too, because it takes into account the relationship between our planet, the sun and the moon, and its impact on the human system. As such, the New Year's dates were set to mark the beginning of the new agricultural season and the welcoming of spring, and not on 1 January.

Representing the very body of the feminine, the walls of Devi’s abode form an inverted triangle, symbolizing the feminine womb of creation, while a smaller triangle in the interior represents the masculine, unborn within the womb.

Purnima Procession at Coimbatore
Once a month, on full moon day, Devi comes out to make contact with the Dhyanalinga, the source of her sustenance. A grand procession of the Linga Bhairavi culminates with the Maha Arati in front of Dhyanalinga.
