Sadhguru Consecrates the Yogeshwar Linga at the Sadhguru Sannidhi, Bengaluru

The Enormous Empowerment of Union

Over 12,000 people immersed themselves in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the Yogeshwar Linga consecration by Sadhguru at the Sadhguru Sannidhi, Bengaluru. The consecration took place on the morning of 15 January 2023.

Nestled in the rocky embrace of Bengaluru’s iconic Nandi Hills, Sadhguru Sannidhi houses the recently consecrated Naga shrine. The Naga consecration in early October 2022 drew over 16,000 people from around the world, with the three-hour process leaving the participants awestruck and drenched in ecstasy. It was no surprise that, when Sadhguru announced the date for the consecration of the Yogeshwar Linga, again many thousands were eager to experience this mystical phenomenon.

Waiting With Bated Breath

It was a chilly winter morning and the air was crisp, biting at the skin and causing the waiting devotees to wrap their shawls a little tighter around them. Clad in white, they sat cross-legged in front of the majestic 112-ft Adiyogi. His enigmatic face, framed by a dramatic sky, left those who gazed upon him in fascination and awe.

The anticipation was nearing fever pitch as participants continued to chant the powerful “Yoga Yoga Yogeshwaraya” chant. When Sadhguru walked in, it was as if time stood still. He moved with effortless grace, his eyes scanning the crowd intently, leaving one to wonder what he perceived that others could not. His presence was palpable, and as he took his seat, a potent silence descended.

A Mystical Process Unfolds

One participant later shared, “The first moment that I noticed Sadhguru had arrived, there was some kind of shivering going across my skin. I can’t explain it, but it was very powerful.”

Sadhguru spoke about the significance of creating consecrated forms, and how a consecrated space empowers and enhances people’s lives. He then unleashed a process of such profoundness and potency that it left many in tears. The level of involvement and discipline with which the participants immersed themselves into the consecration process was humbling.

In contrast to the simple instructions that Sadhguru gave the participants, he himself carried out an elaborate process to consecrate the Yogeshwar Linga, involving substances like vilva leaves, sacred ash, turmeric, kumkum, and the five fundamental elements.

To attempt to describe a mystical process of this magnitude in words would be an exercise in futility, but the complexity of what Sadhguru was doing could not be missed. There were times when one could see Sadhguru completely drained; such was the toll that it was taking on him. But with unrelenting commitment and an unwavering focus, Sadhguru completed the consecration. As the rays of the rising sun shone on the glorious face of Adiyogi, it seemed to be illuminated by more than just sunlight.

How Participants Experienced the Consecration

As one participant said, “I have been here since yesterday, and I could see a change in how Adiyogi looks now compared to how he looked yesterday. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s like what I saw yesterday was a sculpture, and what I’m seeing today is Shiva.”

After the consecration was over, Sadhguru strode through the crowd, his presence eliciting a wave of emotion from the participants. As they felt the magnitude of that moment, their hearts were flooded with gratitude for being able to share in this profound process.

Another participant summarized his experience: “I think it really changed me. In the future, I think I might be able to articulate what exactly happened here; for now, it’s a mystery.”

Unveiling of the 112-ft Adiyogi

As the consecration ended, volunteers were already buzzing with intensity. Many participants stayed on, offering their support in preparations for the evening. As the sun was about to set, over 200,000 people poured in to witness the grand unveiling of Adiyogi.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, State Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar, and State Minister of School Education, B. C. Nagesh, were present on the occasion and witnessed the impressive Adiyogi Divya Darshanam.

They were also treated to the spirited performance of popular Karnataka folk dance forms Kamsale and Dollu Kunitha, as well as Theyyam, a traditional Kerala fire dance.

Sadhguru received a very warm welcome in Riyadh. He addressed an enthusiastic and highly engaged public gathering organized by the Embassy of India, Riyadh, answering questions of all kinds, and of course – talking about Soil.

Radhe Jaggi and Isha Samskriti put on an awe-inspiring show of Bharatanatyam, themed around the Save Soil movement. Their artistry and skill were breathtaking to behold.

Then Sadhguru took the stage to highlight the significance of the movement and how the groundswell of support garnered during the 100 days of the Save Soil journey continues to grow. The enchanting evening was perhaps best summarized by none other than Sadhguru himself:
