At the Fifth International Agronomy Congress, Sadhguru was interviewed by Dr. Anitha Vodur, the dean of postgraduate studies at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University. Dr. Anitha asked Sadhguru about how to galvanize large groups of people to generate change. Sadhguru shared that the unique aspect of the many initiatives and movements Isha has taken up for the environment in the last 25 years is that they are all about our collective wellbeing. With immense passion and clarity, Sadhguru spoke about how conserving the soil has to be made the number one priority right now, as it is relevant to all climate issues and all life.
Sadhguru met with the versatile musicians of American music group the Black Eyed Peas, and spoke about the Conscious Planet movement and the vital action required to rejuvenate the planet’s soil. The event included an enthusiastic audience with many asking questions and offering support in different ways. Sadhguru shared that the needed action will not happen unless ecology becomes an election agenda, and as responsible citizens of democratic nations, we need to tell our governments how much ecology matters to us.
Legendary American football quarterback Tom Brady invited Sadhguru on his podcast where sportscaster Jim Gray joined them in a riveting conversation. Right off the bat, Tom asked Sadhguru if he had any advice to offer his audience. Pat came the reply, “Don’t listen to other people’s advice.” He pointed out that in seeking advice, one becomes a follower and instead suggested people should listen to everything in the world, especially their own bodies. Sadhguru also spoke about being involved with the process rather than being overly goal-oriented.
The conversation began with a discussion of soil degradation, with a specific focus on Africa where desertification of the soil has reached 45%, and where the risk of serious human suffering caused by food and water shortages is heightened by the rapidly growing population.
The two also spoke about the history of African Americans and the current challenges they face. Sadhguru said that we need to turn the pain and hardship of the past into vital wisdom, honor those who went through unimaginable experiences, and not to view community struggles as a battle because anger and resentment will only hinder the process. Rather, he suggested they be looked at as opportunities for self-transformation and community empowerment.
Activist, writer, and public speaker Zainab Salbi interviewed Sadhguru for her podcast “Redefined.” They discussed the Karma book, and Sadhguru spoke about what it means for a person to take charge of their life and their experience – becoming joyful by one’s own nature. Zainab asked Sadhguru about the source of his clarity, and he shared that it was his unprejudiced and unbridled attention to everything he comes across.
Marc Benioff is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Salesforce – one of the biggest cloud-based software companies in the world. A passionate champion for ecology, he was delighted to meet with Sadhguru and reiterated the significance of saving soil to save Earth. After the conversation, Sadhguru tweeted: “Marc’s concerns beyond business should become an inspiration for every large business on the planet. Ecological concerns are no more futuristic – they are Here. #SaveSoil, our very body. Let’s Make It Happen.”
Talking to the Times Now news channel during the opening ceremony of the new Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Sadhguru spoke about the immensity of Kashi, its possibility for humanity, the significance of its history, and its potential for the future. He also described the careful attention that was paid to all aspects of life in India’s spiritual culture, and particularly to the human mechanism and the subjectivity of human experience. Admiring the effort that has gone into renovating Kashi, Sadhguru highlighted the importance of offering the best of this culture’s history to future generations.
The ancient Kumareshwar temple, near Thirukazhukundram (70 km from Chennai), has been dilapidated for decades. A new life was infused into this temple owing to a recent renovation. Isha Brahmacharis and hundreds of Isha volunteers participated in the inaugural process by chanting the powerful Yogeshwaraya chant and placed the yantra consecrated by Sadhguru in the kalasam (a pointed copper vessel placed on top of the temple). This was followed by Guru Pooja, expressing gratitude to the lineage of spiritual masters who have transmitted spirituality as a living process for generations to come.
This is a small yet significant step in renovating thousands of decaying temples across the land to revive the spiritual process in its full vibrancy.
