Krishna’s Guru Dakshina: Why Couldn’t Sandhipani Save His Son

Sadhguru explains why even a great master like Sandhipani could not handle the situation, when his son got kidnapped.

Q: Sadhguru, you told us that Sandhipani, Krishna’s Guru, could not handle the situation when his son got kidnapped. Can you explain why even a great master like him could not handle the situation?

Sadhguru: Those who stood out as truly great were not people who could handle everything in their lives. They were people who, no matter what happened, maintained a certain balance and fulfilled the purpose of their lives. The circumstances they faced were always far more extreme, difficult, and challenging compared to what the people you call “normal” go through. In spite of all that, they did not deviate from whatever they held as right within themselves. It is that which makes them great, not that they were fix-alls and do-alls.

One who is seasoned with life knows that many things may not happen the way you want them. Many things may turn against you.

There are no fix-alls and do-alls in the world, no matter who they are. Only an immature person will believe that he is a fix-all. One who is seasoned with life knows that many things may not happen the way you want them. Many things may turn against you. Things that you have worked for through your whole life may just collapse for some stupid reason.

It happened in Krishna’s life. People who had proclaimed that they would give their lives for him, suddenly turned around and spat at him. But this did not make him deviate from what he saw as the right thing to do with himself and life around him. It is this that makes a man great. Not that he was a fix-all. There is no fix-all in the world. You thought I am a fix-all. Is that why you are here? I’m not a fix-all either. I am putting my 10 fingers in 20 different holes, trying to plug them. All the time, it is leaking somewhere. It is an eternal circus. But that doesn’t break you. That doesn’t subjugate you. It may kill you, but still, it doesn’t get you away from who you are. It may bring death to you, but it will not destroy you. That’s what makes a person great.

Thank you sadhguru for yet another answer to my curiosity....finding you was one of my beautiful, purposeful gain to my life....

not if someone is giving them both their hands to fill the 20 holes but it he just won't accept their hands. He has banned occult thinking it will help save the planet but it has just caused world pollution. He is nowhere near as smart as Krishna and should not even talk about him. Krishna was nothing without Radhe and just like that he is nothing without Krishna (the divine or occults) help.

flowing with time means the making and breaking of a being. Occult can go right and wrong, its the divines work. Krishna was blacker than night Radhe was pale in comparison literally. Yet they worked together forever and have been constantly working together since the adi yogi and his wife..one is the world the other is the cosmos. There is only truly one that can support the darkness in krishna's heart. Radhe is the secret to his god like ability. Time and nature have always coexisted like this, its the truth.

If everything is fine inside, what needs to be done outside? May I know bliss that Shiva is. May I know joy that Krishna is. Sadhguru, may my life disturb other lives the least. May I know happiness ever that there be no need for external pleasures. I'm too... blessed to have You. Too... blessed.

I remember reading something like this in an Isha publication and I think its most probably "Why Suffering?"(http://www.ishashoppe.com/in/books-dvds/why-suffering-856) or "A Guru Always Takes You For A Ride"(http://www.ishashoppe.com/in/books-dvds/a-guru-always-742), both are by Sadhguru: "Those suffering lack of material resources can state what the problem is, but those whose suffering is not of that kind can't make such statements." I feel this is very true. Those who are suffering their new-found ignorance and wanna get out of it, just can't put it in words. Its something that can be known only by experience. And the second book here, it is the book, which I would want anybody to go through after their Inner Engineering. Had I read it on time, I would have known what true compassion is, and wouldn't have done non-sense and labeled it a help/support. Its a must-read for every Isha meditator.

Great masters dont use their powers for such silly selfish things. Such things happens for some karmic reasons and masters dont manipulate situations, unless it is absolutely necessary and if it serves a higher cause. Its like you are promised 10000$ by your father, do you want waste those precious money for partying with friends boozing etc? Would your father like it? Would he ever give more? Such siddhis will dwindle if you use it for selfish purposes.
