On July 14, 2011, the Guru Purnima day, people from far and wide came to honor Sadhguru and receive his Grace at the Isha Yoga Center. The day began with the Devi’s Grace as many people received the Linga Bhairavi and Linga Bhairavi Avighna Yantras in a special ceremony with Sadhguru, while the evening was enlivened with the Purnima Abhishekam and Maha Aarti.

At 9 pm, Brahmacharies and Samskriti children welcomed Sadhguru into the full Spanda Hall with chants and drums and performed the traditional Pada Pooja, a ritual washing of the Guru’s feet.

As announced earlier by Sadhguru, millions of people all over the world sat in silence from 6:20 pm – 6:40 pm, IST to receive the Guru’s blessings. At the Yoga Center, the charged Silence was followed by beautiful chants dedicated to the Guru.

Samskriti Children danced to 'Kana Vendamo.' The Tamil song, written for the Nataraja Deity in Chidambaram, asks - 'Don't you want to have His Darshan (refers to beholding the deity) while you are still alive?' Ashram residents celebrated the occasion by dancing with Diyas, or lamps. Brahmacharies offered sacred chants for their Guru. A group of musicians came from Naduhatti village near Kothagiri to offer their devotional bhajans.

Everyone was soon on their feet, dancing with joy to the tunes of vibrant songs dedicated to Sadhguru, the Dhyanalinga and Linga Bhairavi.

A resident shares:
“When we were called out to perform, I held my Guru in my heart, I lost myself in the dance and it happened beautifully, in my experience. A very rare opportunity to be with my Master and offer a dance on Guru Purnima. It was like double bonanza.”

The evening closed with Brahmacharies distributing prasadam. Both temples were open till 1 am for one and all to meditate and imbibe the sacred space.
