Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance forms that originated in southern India. Interlaced with melody and rhythm this artform is a unique way of expressing oneself through movement. Practicing Bharatanatyam brings a sense of awareness of one's body, mind and emotions, helping improve your balance and stability.
The composition “Devi Stuti” is a compilation of verses from the Devi Mahathmayam, an ancient Indian classical text describing the goddess or the feminine divine form.
To assist in learning this piece, a few preparatory dance postures and movements will be introduced.

Eligibility: Ages 14+
It is mandatory to attend all the sessions in sequence in order to complete the workshop.
Please be in a light stomach condition.
A 10 ft x 5 ft area is required to participate in the workshop. A quiet outdoor space is preferred.
The flooring should not be slippery as it can lead to injuries.
