Sadhguru: If there is no love in your heart, you are anyway guilty of adultery. If you have given yourself to any aspect of life - not necessarily just a man or a woman - for the sake of convenience and comfort, without love in your heart, then you are an adulterer.

So am I against adultery? In that sense, yes. But as far as the social definition of adultery is concerned, it is individual. For every action that you perform, there is a consequence. Most people are not willing to face the consequences when they happen. They want to enjoy situations without any consequences. Anybody who is not willing to joyfully accept the consequences that come to them for the actions they perform is just a fool. A fool is somebody who is against himself in so many ways. If you are working against yourself with your actions because you have given in to a certain aspect of your body or emotion, then definitely it’s not okay. You will bring suffering to yourself. Anybody who goes about bringing suffering to themselves, for whatever reasons they have, it doesn’t make sense, does it?

I’m not for or against anything. Are you living your life sensibly or are you a slave of something? That is the question. What makes utmost sense to you, you must do that. If you’ve just given in to either the ways of your body, emotion or mind, and are going against yourself, it’s not sensible. It’s just very limited and stupid. Anything that’s limited and stupid is not worthwhile. So I would say, adultery is not worthwhile. Is it right or wrong? Who am I to pass a judgment on anything about life? But it is stupid and limited to do anything which causes suffering to you. It is stupid and senseless to give in to something which seems to be everything today but tomorrow it’ll make you feel like a fool. That is a senseless way to live. If you don’t have sense, everything is wrong with your life. If you show sense, there is no right and wrong with your life.
