About Isha Vidhya:

Isha Vidhya is committed to raising the level of education and literacy in rural India and helping disadvantaged children realize their full potential. The project seeks to ensure quality education for children in rural areas, opening the door for them to participate in and benefit from India's economic growth. Featuring English and computer-based education that is complemented by innovative methods for the overall development and blossoming of each student, Isha Vidhya schools empower rural children to meet future challenges.

In the first phase of the project, Isha Vidhya's endeavor is focused on bringing about a noticeable change in the educational landscape of rural Tamil Nadu. This is primarily to develop a sustainable model which can be replicated over other parts of the country. Towards this, Isha Vidhya will establish more than 200 rural schools in each taluk of Tamil Nadu, delivering education that meets the vision, within the next few years.

Currently 6 schools are in operation providing quality education to 1894 rural children. About 70% of the students are covered by scholarship.
