With just two days to go before Sadhguru rides from Talacauvery to Thiruvarur from 3-16 September, we bring you up to date with all the Cauvery Calling buzz that has happened over the last two months for this massive campaign. Let’s gear up for a dizzying two-week ride!

9:30pm - Joyfully Lost in Search of Cauvery

Bus 1 left the Isha Yoga Center with the plan of reaching Bhagamandala in the evening. Alas, it was not to be.

“We started the Cauvery Calling journey at 6:30 in the morning in search of Cauvery. Right now it is 9:30 in the night and we are still searching for Cauvery. We can’t find anything. Our driver got lost. But the excitement is still there. Since we are all lost, we will skip Cauvery tonight and stay in a hotel. And tomorrow morning when the rain stops and the driver is well-rested, he will find Cauvery for us!” - Hanine

5:30pm - 60 Mysoreans - 30 of them students - stood up for Cauvery in a Standathon.

Whether it was Ramaswamy circle, Metropole circle, Big Bazaar, RTO circle, Fire brigade or Kukkarahalli Lake, they made sure passersby don’t forget that Cauvery is calling.

4:30pm The Army Officers posed heartfelt questions to Sadhguru, who greeted them with utmost gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice for the nation. Immediately afterwards, Sadhguru shot off to Gnana Shala (Isha Home School) for an interview on Cauvery Calling.

Sanketh’s journal: unfolding the experiences from the Farmer Outreach campaign.

When experiences strike a chord, no amount of words are good enough! Something similar happened to our volunteer Sanketh D Hegde. His enthusiasm is visible in the way he has knitted his whole experience together. Relive the moments with him in his unique Twitter thread.

Suyash’s heart beat for mother Cauvery, even at the heights of Mt. Kailash. He and his wife decided to skip on paying for a porter and carried their 2 backpacks on their own. They donated the saved amount towards Cauvery Calling.

“The call of Mahadeva was strong enough, but I started the trek with an added determination of also doing it for Cauvery Ma. It turned out to be the most beautiful trek of my life...” he shares.

Inspired by their devotion, 4 people from his Kailash yatra group donated for 100 trees each. And when other Kailash groups heard about it, the domino effect continued!

Donate Now.

People have been donating Rs. 42 per tree for Cauvery Calling. Others have started their own online fundraising campaign, getting their friends and family to contribute. To make it more interesting, Indian states (and even countries around the world) are in a friendly competition to plant the most number of trees! Every fundraiser’s tally will count towards their state or nation’s total. This is where we stand till date:

  • 29 lakh trees donated by
  • 1 lakh supporters
  • 8,000 fundraisers and
  • 13 celebrity partners

2:00pm Before Sadhguru sets off on Cauvery Calling to inspire all to protect our rivers, he sets aside time for the protectors of the nation. A group of 55, comprising officers from the Indian Armed Forces and their spouses, are eagerly awaiting a session with Sadhguru, that is about to begin shortly at the Isha Yoga Center. There is a crackling air of anticipation. This group of senior officers includes a Lieutenant General, Major Generals, Brigadiers and Colonels from various formations, institutions and headquarters of the Indian Army. They were initiated into the powerful Shambhavi Mahamudra kriya and also taught Upa-Yoga and Yoga Namaskar.

9:30am 60 Mysore motorcyclists are whirring around the city roads on a mini ride, preparing for their upcoming travels across Karnataka. They will be joining the campaign on the 5th of September. The excitement has just begun for this zealous group. If you see them around, don’t forget to shout out with them- “Tàayi Cauvery deergha kaala baalali!” (Long live Mother Cauvery!)

Welcome to Cauvery Diaries - Of Motorcycles and a Mystic!

At Isha, we have just kicked into full on campaign mode. Volunteers in the ashram, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are gearing up for Sadhguru’s ride from Talacauvery to Thiruvarur for Cauvery Calling. If you’re wondering what Cauvery Calling is, it’s a movement to revitalize Cauvery River by supporting farmers to plant 242 crore trees through agroforestry, covering 1/3 of the Cauvery Basin.

When a Mystic takes to his motorcycle, no river can remain dry! Sadhguru will be riding across the region from 3-16 September to activate farmer participation and inspire everyone to act now to save Cauvery. Along the way, he will be visiting some spiritually significant places along this sacred river.

We will be capturing all the live updates from the ground here! From Sadhguru’s personal updates to bikers’ experiences, farmer stories, interesting facts about the places along the way, daily recap videos, media coverage and celebrity promotions – and much more – this blog has all you need to know about the campaign.
