Light up your life with Devi's grace
Light up your life with Devi's grace
Diwali and Karthigai Deepam is a time of communion, togetherness, joy and celebration. In the northern hemisphere, Diwali, or Deepavali, is traditionally celebrated on Trayodashi (13th day) of the Karthigai month in the lunar calendar. This marks the beginning of winter, when all life slows down. The celebratory aspect of these months, starting with Diwali, has a deep scientific significance in this culture. It aids in enabling a person to get through the dark winter without falling sick or losing their sense of balance and purpose.
In the Yogic tradition, the lunar month of Karthigai also marks the transition from sadhana pada to kaivalya pada - the time to harvest the fruits of the earlier months of sadhana. Sadhguru reminds us that the lighting of lamps every day this month goes beyond the spirit of celebration; it is also used to signify enlightenment, awareness and moving from untruth to truth. It is indicative of one’s aspiration to attain ultimate liberation.
This year, Diwali falls on 4 November and the month of Karthigai spans from 17 November to 15 December.
On the day of Karthigai Deepam, an elaborate Purnima Abhishekam will be offered to Devi, celebrated with a soulful outpouring of music and dance. Join us live from 5:40 - 6:50 PM IST on 18 November and experience Devi's powerful presence. Register to join for free.
