Veteran Bharatnatyam exponent, Smt Kalaimamani Indira Rajan joined the Isha Home School faculty and formally initiated students into learning the classical dance form of Bharatnatyam.

On this auspicious day of Pournami (full moon), students offered flowers and fruits to Nataraja, the Cosmic Lord of Dance, and received blessings from their dance guru.

Smt. Indira Rajan hails from the Pandanallur tradition of Bharatnatyam. She is renowned world over for her masterful nattuvangam and her passion for preserving the art of Bharatnatyam. She is the recipient of the prestigious Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award and a nominee for the national Padma Shri Award for her distinguished contribution to the performing arts.

Smt. Indira Rajan will be a visiting faculty member of IHS, as she runs a full fledge dance school in Chennai known as Vahini Natyalaya. She plans to spend a minimum of 2 to 3 days of every month at IHS to oversee the curriculum, delivery and progress of the students. Resident teacher and disciple of Smt Indira Rajan, E. Anitha, will be facilitating regular classes.
