Over 600 sanitary department workers participated in a 5-day Isha Kriya meditation camp from June 25th to 29th, at Erode. Organized by Isha Outreach at the behest of the Erode Corporation to help workers relax and improve work efficiency. The Mayor of Erode, Mallika Paramsivam and Corporation Commissioner, M. Vijayalakshmi inaugurated the event. Every day’s meditation session was followed by various kinds of games that everyone participated in. Most of the workers looked relaxed and de-stressed after just one evening of meditation and games.

The 600 workers were split into 5 batches, with each batch attending the program on one day while the other 4 batches took care of the department activity. The Isha Outreach team had conducted a similar 10-day workshop for 3000 sanitation department workers of the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation in May.

What Is Isha Kriya?

Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the yogic sciences, Isha Kriya is a yogic practice created by Sadhguru. “Isha” refers to “that which is the source of creation”; “kriya” literally means “internal action.” The purpose of Isha Kriya is to help an individual get in touch with the source of his existence, to create life according to his own vision and ambition. Isha Kriya is free, simple, and easy to practice. Available as a free guided meditation online and with written instructions as well, it has the potential to transform the life of anyone who is willing to invest just a few minutes a day.
