T his month between the previous full moon, and the significant one that is coming up in two days, is the time when the grace of Adiyogi fell upon the Sapta Rishis, or the seven sages. These are the classic seekers of the spirit. And the only ones till then to get the attention from a being beyond all limitations that we know as life.

As I sit here at the foothills of Velliangiri, the annual fest of the wind is on in all its beauty and fury. I am sure quite a few people in the ashram experience this wind as a nuisance, rather than as a festival of vayu – the wind god. Sometimes, the winds are coming down from the mountain at 120kms per hour. These are winds of change; we are shifting from Uttarayana to Dakshinayana. A significant change in the way the planet’s energy spheres operate. The winds are significant as a symbol of blowing away the past and beginning a fresh cycle of sadhana. Very significant for all spiritual seekers.

Unthinkingly, I picked the date for the first and only Wholeness Program in 1994. It was 12th July and we were in the month of the Guru. This is the beauty of our lives, once you are in grace of the Guru, He takes care of all the detail that you yourself may overlook. Gratitude to the Adiyogi. I did not choose a bad partner – did I. In fact, you can never have a better one.

This week has been pathbreaking for Isha as we moved into Bengaluru for the first ever program by me. The response from the people of Bengaluru has been nothing short of phenomenal and indicates what is coming. This has been the largest English-language program anywhere. Nearly 3,000 people - wonderful sense of discipline and participation, and quite a spectacular conclusion.

It beats me to see how different people in Karnataka are after being with the raw intensity of Tamil people. It is amazing and funny that people should be so different, though geographically, just across. Bengaluru, for sure, will see more of Isha in the coming years.

We also laid the foundation stone for the first full-fledged Bhairavi temple outside Coimbatore. After an early morning drive from Bengaluru to Salem, a quaint little ceremony of establishing a pre-consecration form of Bhairavi. A few thousand people had gathered for this little ceremony and there are no words to describe their eagerness and devotion. This is a new beginning, there’s a lot more to come.

I will offer a special Darshan on the day of Guru Purnima between 6:20pm to 6:40pm India time. Wherever you are, make yourself receptive. You will not miss the presence and grace.

Love & Grace

Guru Purnima will take place Thursday, July 19. Read more about this auspicious month.
