Sadhguru: My mother was a wonderful singer and she played veena. She would be singing all the time. Though she was not the overt kind, usually not asserting herself in any way, whenever someone would ask, “Can anyone sing?” you would hear her singing. In India this used to be a normal thing, before tape-recorders and CD players. If anyone could sing, it was a precious thing. So with just one request she would sing without a moment’s hesitation. If people wanted to listen, she would sing, and if no one was there she would always be singing.
