A quiet Sea
A quiet Day
A quiet Mind
But a raging Heart
Blazing with Fire
Of an ancient Sage.
Burning for many a millennia
Destructive for the ignorant
Enlightening for the seeking
Brutal to the stubborn
Tender to the willing.
When all the tricks fall
The First Yogi’s Fire shall
Burn the ignorant pall
To light the future’s citadel
Citadels of future are first
built in the minds of Ignorance or Light
These citadels when lit with Grace
Of the Blue-Bodied Maker of all race
Will be a worthy place to dwell here
and a passage to the ways of the beyond.
O’ how fortunate are we
To carry the Fire of the Aadhi Yogi.
Sadhguru’s message on the Bhumi Pooja of Aadhi Yogi Aalayam
This is only the first step. We stand here today with a promise within us that we will make His footprint happen all over the world.
April 21st, 2011 – a seemingly ordinary day – marked a milestone for humanity, with the beginning of the construction of Aadhi Yogi Aalayam. When finished, this 79,000 sq ft meditation hall and mandapam will be an offering and a promise to the world, a space where one can receive powerful initiations into a spiritual process.
Traditionally, in India, before constructing a new building, a “Bhumi Pooja” is performed upon the Earth on which the building will come.
Under the scalding rays of the mid-morning sun, hundreds of people were welcomed onto the construction site with Aadhi Yogi chants sung by the Samskriti children. The bustle of excitement surrounded one massive stone, which was engraved with an enjoined sun and moon, symbolizing the Ultimate union of the dualities. Soon, Sadhguru entered, striding briskly to the stone. Not wasting any time, amid gestures and signals, the sacred stone was properly positioned.
After washing the rock, Sadhguru stood atop a table to smear the sun with vibhuti, and half moon with kumkum. He adorned it with a mala. The Master showed his playful side as he lightly hopped on the already wobbling table. In one leap, he jumped back onto the ground.
All sat down for the Guru Pooja.
